Thermolint frost protection
Frost protection of pipes: with thermolint cable a thick pipe of 110 mm diameter -provided with 20 mm insulation- can be protected down to -30 °C. This cable may also be used underground, in water (e.g. pond heating), and partly indoors and outdoors. The latter is important in houseboats, for example, where the temperature of the pipe can vary quite a bit.
Tip: For keeping a condensate drain frost-free, we recommend the shorter frost-free element or Heating Ribbon.
Waterproof thermal tape
The connection between the connecting cable and the heating element is of such quality that Thermolint is ideally suited for wet applications, even outdoors.
Tip: for application inside water pipes or animal drinking troughs, take Heating Ribbon, which is safe for drinking water.
Thermolint is protected against overheating even when the cable is applied overlapping ("crossed"). The colder the environment, the lower the resistance of the carbon body in the cable and the higher the heat output. Fastening can be done with self-adhesive
aluminum tape, ty-reps, insulation tape or (on surfaces)
mounting sealant. For frost-free surfaces, the optimum distance between loops is 10 mm.
Automatic activation
Via a
frost switch (between socket and mains plug), the heat cable will automatically switch on in case of frost (danger). In addition, you can leave it on all year round without any energy cost.
Via thermostat on mains
For permanent (fixed) installation, cut off the plug to connect the connecting cable directly to the controller. Simple solution with fixed temperature:

Temperature control-IP65. Finally, there is the cheaper
temperature control IP54.
